Guru Bandhu · Last updated 30 September 2026

Guru Bandhu ("the app") helps music teachers manage their students, class schedules, and payments. This policy explains what information the app stores and how it is protected.

What we collect

If you use Guru Bandhu as a student, we store your account email and the link between you and your teacher. You can see only your own classes, lesson name and fees from your teacher's record; your teacher's other students, phone numbers and private notes are never shown to you. Students can also keep a list of lessons they are learning; your teacher can see and edit that list, and you can see and edit theirs.

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage-tracking data. Class and payment reminders are scheduled on your own phone. If you are a teacher and switch notifications on, we also store a token that identifies your phone, so we can tell you when a student says they have paid. It is removed when you log out or turn notifications off.

How your data is stored and protected

Student information

The student details you enter belong to your teaching relationship. As the teacher, you are responsible for that information and should only add contact details you have permission to store. You can edit or delete any student's information at any time in the app.

Guru Bandhu is for teachers and their students. It is not directed at children under 13. If a teacher teaches a child, the teacher is responsible for the information they enter about them.

Your choices

Data retention

Your data is kept until you delete it, or until you delete your account, at which point it is permanently removed.
